It’s only been two months since I was invited to London to celebrate the launch of Procreate Dreams and get a look at this amazing new tool for digital artists. Since then my wife Tay were even able to promote my animated series coming out this spring, Stormfellers, at Lightbox. Within these past hectic months, a few exciting updates have come to the artist community— namely, Procreate Dreams has finally launched!

While I don’t have any intensive projects completed in Procreate Dreams yet, since like you, I’m waiting for the full release as beta files arent 100% guaranteed to carry over, the plan is to animate the majority of our visual effects shots for Stormfellers in Dreams.

If you were there for the early days of Procreate, you’ll remember just how quickly it went from a fun little iPad app to a robust and feature-rich professional program.

I will say (and this is not based on any insider information, more just, precedent and intuition) I am looking forward to if not expecting, a LOT more features, both already in Procreate and otherwise, to be added to Dreams in a relatively short amount of time.

Unfortunately, like every other drawing or animation app, Dreams can’t automatically make you a better artist. While it’s ridiculously intuitive, just remember that animation takes a little time and patience, more than maybe what you’re used to with just drawing. But I know you’ve got it in you and I can’t wait to see what you and the whole community end up doing with it!

I encourage you, if you haven’t already, to watch the full tutorial video I’ve posted above. It’s got great insight for you if you’re considering using this amazing new app. Thanks for watching, and have fun dreaming!
